ARTS IN MODERN AGE

by M.R.T. Kingston

Sivakasi Times-july2006

Art is movement and the first and foremost way of communication. Early man expressed his thoughts and ideas through gestures, musical beats and by cave paintings. Those means of communication were shaped to Dance, Music and Painting. They have been followed from generation to generation, and are termed as traditional arts where the originality is preserved and the creativity of the artist is limited.

But human mind is surely not satisfied with the available Arts. It expects some new inventions which originate from within. Modern Art feeds the thirsty minds with a vast area of exploration where, you find no foot steps to follow. Everyone is a creator here and every creation is a unique form of art. The artist's heart is the yardstick to measure it. Individuality of a single perceiver is nourished by Modern Art.
