Sivakasi Times-september2006

Agriculture is not only the backbone of India's economy, employing two third of its work force; it is also very close to the country's heart. In this issue of Sivakasi Times, we look at the history of farming in India, and consider the future, as the country seeks to free itself from dependence on the vagaries of the monsoons and feed the inhabitants of the second most populous country in the world.

Celebration

Teachers' Day

"Instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers' Day".
This request showed our former President Dr. Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession.

We can find a magnanimous creator, a guiding mentor, an inspiring philosopher, an eternal learner and a good friend in every dedicated teacher. Their mission is selfless and endless. On this precious day, let us salute our great masters who inspired and inculcated the fire of knowledge in us.
