“Whether a course will do you any good depends on what you make of it,” said K. Pandia Rajan, founder of Ma Foi Management Consultants, Chennai, the international HR (Human Resource) services provider. The engineering graduate, who also has a Masters in Business Administration, will vouch that it is life experience that shapes a person. Pandia Rajan’s life is an example of how crucial choices to take the less travelled road can make all the difference - both in his own life and in the lives of others.

Back in the 1980s, Pandia Rajan’s involvement in a students’ protest enabled him to glimpse the untapped potential in studying human psychology and behaviour, in what was then just an emerging fi eld - personnel management. Since then, there has been no looking back for this ‘people’s person’. In an exclusive interview for Sivakasi Times, Pandia Rajan displayed an unusual common sense and homespun wisdom as he cited his grandfather, grandmother, an teachers in middle school, as his inspiration.

Founded in 1992, Ma Foi’s growth has been spectacular. Today, in association with Randstad, the world’s second largest HR services provider, Ma Foi has provided career opportunities for more than 2,000,000 individuals in 36 countries and worked with more than 204 Fortune 500 companies.

It is a matter of pleasure and pride for Sivakasians that K. Pandia Rajan is from Villampatti, a village near Sivakasi. Sivakasi Times is honoured to feature him as our cover story this month.
